Hi Norm,

I hope that you're right, that we will survive this dumpster fire.

But for me, this hits differently. We've never had a terrorist, someone who wants to burn everything down, run the country.

It's like one of those horror movies where you figure out that the call is coming from inside the house and it's the axe murderer. There's nobody to save us, but ourselves.

I'm disheartened that Congress has basically gone along with all the destruction. At least with Nixon, the Republicans had a backbone and stood up to him. This time, not only are they complicit, but the Democrats have done little to delay the worst from happening. Some of them crossed the aisle and voted for the continuing resolution to hand all the power of Congress over to Trump and Musk. It's truly pathetic.

The only people risking their necks is the American public. The resistance is the only way to stop them. I'm glad to see that Tesla's stock is plummeting to hell. It couldn't have happened to a better person.

Always appreciate your comments, Sarah. Usually I am a pessimist by nature, so it feels kind of weird to be the one who says things will be okay. We each, as individuals, have to figure out how we’re going to get through these difficult times. I’ve decided, as best I can, to not allow the criminal in the White House to control how I feel about my life and my country. Easier said than done, for sure. But, for my own mental health, I have to try.

Hi Norm,

I understand, we all have to do what's best for us to guard our mental health. In the mist of all this turmoil, I have actually started graduate studies in mental health counseling. I plan to complete a masters degree and become a mental health counselor. I'm quickly learning that as a counselor, self-care is critical. So the analogy of putting your mask on first definitely applies. My mental health has been challenged many times in the past 5 years, so I don't take that for granted. I truly believe that you must protect your mental health at all cost.

I do appreciate your optimism. I am told I can be somewhat of an alarmist. I need other people to temper my doom, LOL. I need someone to tell me things aren't as bad as I think they are. It helps to level out my perspective.

Take care!
