I thought George Washington could not tell a lie. I guess that was a "lie".

You always liked my homemade treats, right?

When George and his troops were encamped at Valley Forge, and the camp cook asked him how he liked the supper of gruel and hardtack, I bet he replied, "It was great! Better than what Martha makes!" The cook probably knew George was lying, but I'm sure he appreciated the effort.

I would rather eat your homemade treats than gruel and hardtack any day. :)

And, that's the truth.

I guess I feel honored.

I was actually going to say that your homemade treats are quite good, and leave it at that. But after admitting my lies in my post, l thought perhaps my credibility as a truth teller was damaged. (My wife believes I overthink things. Imagine that.)

So, let me remove all doubt and state unequivocally for the record that Mr Bill's homemade treats are quite good. And, if I'm lying, may I be sentenced to a lifetime of gruel and hardtack.

Anyway, thanks for reading and subscribing.

I threw away a stale plate of such treats just a couple days ago! No coworkers complained.
